It’s for preschoolers
Our program is designed as a music based playgroup for Under 5s.
The interactive music class runs for 30 minutes. We then move into a time of morning tea (provided) and free play. A great chance for parents to have a cuppa and for kids to interact with each other over games and activities.
It’s about having fun
Little Jammers is all about having fun with music! Children can join in or sit back as much as they like. Our goal is for children to have a positive experience learning some basics of music and movement, in the hope that they’ll develop a love of music.
Fun for some children is about trying everything at every moment they can! For some, fun is about sitting back and taking it all in. For others, fun looks like taking their time to first observe and then experiment. Little Jammers is designed to help you and your child embrace whatever ‘fun’ looks like for you.
It’s interactive
When you arrive, you will be taken to your very own Groove Station. On your Groove Station you will find a number of different percussion instruments which we’ll use throughout the class. Parents or carers are encouraged to join in and play along with their children.
Instruments change from week to week.
Songs are played live on guitar, and include a mix of popular, traditional and original songs.
It’s Educational
We play a wide catalogue of songs: Songs that help with movement and language, and others that introduce us to musical concepts. And of course some songs are really just for fun!
We play a mix of popular children songs, as well as songs that are written just for our Little Jammers. Best of all, our songs are performed live, giving you and your child the experience of playing live music with others.
It’s also about making new friends
The musical journey is best done with others. Little Jammers seeks not only to provide a really helpful early childhood music program, it seeks to establish vibrant and warm music communities. It’s a great place to meet others and learn to love music together.
